Air Tahiti Nui relaxes its travel modification rules to and from China

In careful response to the global concerns regarding the Coronavirus outbreak in Asia, Air Tahiti Nui is committed to the continued safety of all customers and crew. Along with flexible ticketing conditions, including complimentary changes to itineraries originating or ending in mainland China, Air Tahiti Nui will comply with the health order of the French Polynesian government on its flights to Papeete, French Polynesia.

IF YOU HAVE NOT VISITED ASIA SINCE JANUARY 1ST, 2020:

You may travel to French Polynesia without any medical certificate. Please note that French Polynesia has not reported any cases of Coronavirus.

 

IF YOU HAVE VISITED OR TRANSITED THE ASIAN COUNTRIES LISTED SINCE JANUARY 1ST, 2020:

 

  • China                                   South Korea                        Taiwan                          Thailand
  • Vietnam                               Philippines                          Hong Kong                     Japan
  • Macao                                  Singapore                            India                             Sri Lanka
  • Nepal                                   Malaysia                             Cambodia

 

You must present a medical document affirming a state of good health signed by a Medical Doctor. This medical document must be dated a maximum of 5 days before travel on Air Tahiti Nui and requires presentation to Air Tahiti Nui staff upon check-in at the airport. Passenger failure to present such a document, while exhibiting symptoms of illness, may result in denied boarding at the discretion of airport staff.

 

Additional Documentation

Please note that you may be required to provide at check in or onboard the flight, both to and from the United States and French Polynesia, documentation confirming your address in destination, telephone number(s), and email address. This information may be used by the Ministry of Health in French Polynesia as well as the US Department of Health and Human Services, Center for Disease Control.

 

Flexible Ticketing Policy

All Air Tahiti Nui ticket holders, whose travel itinerary is from or to mainland China between February 12th, 2020 and February 29th, 2020, will now be able to postpone their trip free of charge through May 31st, 2020. For such cases, customers should contact their Air Tahiti Nui office or travel agency February 29th, 2020 in order to confirm such modifications and flexibility.
