Above all, Air Tahiti Nui and all its employees would like to thank its customers and partners who have supported the company during this difficult period and who are waiting to be reunited with their loved ones, waiting to restart their activities or to travel to our Polynesian islands.
This recovery will be progressive and remains subject to several conditions relating to health measures, the reopening of certain borders and travel demand inevitably impacted by this crisis.
Route Papeete - Paris - Papeete :
As entry conditions to the United States are still uncertain, the Papeete Paris Papeete flights scheduled will be operated via Vancouver instead of Los Angeles until further notice.
September/October flights schedule:
Departing from Paris-CDG 2A, flights are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 20:15 p.m. local time.
Departing from Papeete, flights are scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 23:55 local time.
Important: Travellers will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) in order to transit Vancouver. It is mandatory to apply for the authorization prior to departure. To apply for an ETA, click here.
Citizens of a number of countries are required to obtain their Visa from a Canadian Embassy. For more information and to check if you need a specific visa to travel/transit in Canada, please visit the official Canadian Immigration website.
Although the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is mandatory for transiting in Vancouver, the health and other entry requirements imposed by the Canadian government do not apply to travellers in transit.
Route Papeete - Los Angeles - Papeete :
For September/October, Air Tahiti Nui operates 3 to 4 flights per week from and to Los Angeles.
Route Papeete - Auckland - Papeete :
The schedule changes adopted for this route to date involve the cancellation of all flights during summer. The reopening of this route is subject to the agreement of the New Zealand government. Air Tahiti Nui invites you to regularly consult its website in order to keep you informed of the latest changes.
Route Papeete - Tokyo - Papeete :
The schedule changes adopted for this route to date involve the cancellation of flights until end of September. Air Tahiti Nui is studying with its partners a possible resumption of flights from October 2020.

Mandatory health measures and conditions of entry into French Polynesia
Since July 15, there is no longer any confinement measures, however the current regulations for entering Polynesia require every traveler to:
- At check-in, present a negative COVID-19 test performed within three days prior to the day of your flight. Presenting a plane ticket for the French Overseas Territories allows you to make an appointment in an approved laboratory without a prescription.
RT-PCR Covid 19 test, is mandatory only for passengers of 6 years old or more.
The test has to be a « molecular SARS-CoV-2 genome detection for Covid-19 by Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chaine Reaction performed by a qualified professional, and the result has to be negative.
- At check-in, present the registration receipt on the Etis.pf (Electronic Travel Information System)
- When you board the plane, fill out a Public Health Passenger Locator Form.
Upon arrival in French Polynesia, passengers must present the Mandatory Receipt (ETIS) to the Border Police.
In addition, all passengers over six years of age will be given a kit and will be required to carry out a self-sampling test four days after arrival and return it within the time limit and place indicated on the materials provided.
Customers who fail to comply with any of the above mandatory health measures will not be allowed to board.
Obligations and flexibility
Air Tahiti Nui may deny boarding to passengers with a valid reservation and ticket if they do not comply with the health and entry regulations imposed by the French Polynesian authorities.
In the event of a positive COVID19 test, and therefore the impossibility for its customers to make their trip, the company will however apply a flexible policy of modifying or refunding tickets.
You will also have the possibility to be reimbursed without charge in case of confinement in your country of residence or in French Polynesia or in case of impossibility to travel to French Polynesia due to the closure of transit stopover borders.
Sanitary Measures onboard
Resuming our flights is essential for the Polynesian economy and for our families. Despite this, Air Tahiti Nui is aware of the importance of protecting the Polynesian islands from the COVID-19 epidemic. Your well-being and your security are therefore more than ever at the center of our priorities. We collaborate with health authorities, airports and suppliers to observe these commitments throughout your journey.
The sanitary measures adopted by Air Tahiti Nui and the airports actively contribute to limiting the spread of the virus. The specific measures to maintain physical distance in all waiting areas must be respected and include ground markings and signage. The contactless check-in counters are also designed to limit the risks.
Passenger boarding will be progressive. Depending on the infrastructure of the departure airport, we will start the boarding for passengers from the front of the aircraft to the rear or from the rear of the aircraft to the front. We are also sequencing the boarding by calling each row of seats and thus avoiding passengers waiting in the aisles.
Masks are compulsory for everyone at the airport. The wearing of a surgical mask is required on board, for the entire duration of the flights and for all passengers, excluding children under 11. Failure to comply with this measure on board is considered an offense and will be subject to penalty. All our crews on board and on the ground are also equipped with surgical masks.
Air Tahiti Nui provides its customers with a health kit including 2 surgical masks, a bottle of hydroalcoholic gel and disinfectant wipes.
To ensure proper hygiene in airports, hydroalcoholic gel dispensers are also available throughout your journey.
Reinforced cleaning and disinfection measures
The hygiene on board is at the center of our priorities. The procedure for cleaning and disinfecting our devices is reinforced at the start and at the finish of each route, using specific measures against the coronavirus. Thorough cleaning of our cabins and strict sanitary rules imposed on our various suppliers also allow us to limit the risks of contamination via our equipment and services on board.
During the flight, our crews are taking care of the cabins, with more frequent cleaning of all common areas using a specific disinfectant. Passengers are requested to limit their movements on board as much as possible in order to maintain physical distance and the cleanliness of the cabins.
Cabin air filtration
Our latest generation 787-9 Dreamliner aircrafts are equipped with a high-performance air filtration system, effective for removing particles, bacteria and viruses. The cabin air flow does not circulate from one row to the other, and the air is renewed every 2 to 3 minutes.
This system is equipped with filters identical to those employed in hospitals and manage to capture and block up to 99.995% of bacteria and viruses in the cabin. This air purification system guarantees a significant reduction in the risk of contamination by air on board. However, to avoid any risk, we ask our passengers to wear a mask for the entire duration of the flight.
Hygiene on board
Simplified on-board services
The on-board catering offer has been simplified in order to limit contact. The aperitif and meal services are combined. Meals are provided in a single passage in all travel classes and concentrated in a single tray service, including desserts for Business class. The choice of wines and drinks is also reduced with the same purpose: limiting interactions and serving time. Finally, the choice of special meals is also limited in order to facilitate the service on board.
For the same purpose, the magazines on board are removed, excluding the safety sheet, modified for single use only. However, a selection of press and magazines, in-flight magazines and meal service menus can be viewed on our on-board entertainment system.
The duty-free service on board is suspended. However, this service remains available at the airport shop upon your arrival in Tahiti.
