Reopening of Borders to Tourism

Flights have resumed between Los Angeles and Papeete from May 2nd.

However, the entrance requirements and application procedure has changed from June 10th. For flights departing from June 24th onwards, all passengers must complete the new approval process via the ETIS platform and Health Application, confirming vaccination.

Non-vaccinated and those who are immunized by a previous Covid-19 infection, must complete a separate “Administrative Application".

All application forms must be completed between 30-6 days prior to travel.

It is critical that all passengers read the Conditions of Entrance to French Polynesia as well as the CDC Entrance Requirements to the US, as shown below. If these sections are not read Boarding of the Aircraft may not be possible.

Tahiti, Paris, and Auckland are open – Tokyo remains suspended

The Islands of Tahiti are open to travel from the United States effective May 1st, 2021. Please click on the Entry Requirements to French Polynesia tab below for must read information.

Flights From Los Angeles to Auckland via Tahiti are open starting May 4th, 2022.

Flights from Papeete to Tokyo are suspended through November, 2022.

US - CDC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

CDC ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS TO THE US

Prior to departure (returning in United States only)

CDC rules for Covid-19 testing:
Effective 12:01am ET on June 12, 2022, the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC) will no longer require air passengers travelling from a foreign country to the United States to present a negative COVID-19 viral test or documented recovery from COVID-19 before they board their fight. Exception

However, As of 12:01 a.m. Eastern time on January 5, new requirements apply to air passengers 2 years of age and older traveling to the U.S. from China, Hong Kong, or Macau, as well as those traveling from Seoul, Toronto, and Vancouver who have been in China, Hong Kong, or Macau in the past 10 days. These passengers, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, must test negative for COVID-19 no later than two days prior to flight departure. Individuals who have been infected with COVID-19 within 90 days prior to travel to the United States may present documentation of recovery from COVID-19. Mandatory Travel Declaration

Non-US citizens and non-immigrants seeking to enter the United States must download and complete an Attestation for entry/transit into the USA.

US citizens and nationals must only present a valid passport at check-in, regardless of their vaccination status.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRANCE TO NEW ZEALAND

We inform you that the New Zealand government no longer requires vaccination against Covid-19 for entry into New Zealand, nor pre-departure Covid-19 testing before your departure and nor self-isolation upon arrival.

In addition, since October 20, 2022, travelers are no longer required to complete the NZTD Travel Declaration within 28 days of departure to New Zealand. However, it should be noted that the NZTD will be required again starting from July, 2023. For further information, please visit the New Zealand Traveller Declaration website.

All travelers, regardless of their vaccination status, departing from the United States - Airport Checklist:

A passport that is valid for 3 months beyond the date of return, or a passport that is valid for 1 month beyond the date you intend to depart New Zealand, if the issuing government has consular representation in New Zealand and is able to issue a new travel documents.
