Air Tahiti Nui support the cause of the Paul and Mareva Marciano Foundation

23 January 2020

Mareva Georges, Miss Tahiti 1990 and Miss France 1991, as well as her husband Paul Marciano, founder of the famous clothing brand Guess, have been actively involved in helping the underprivileged in French Polynesia. They have been redoubling their efforts through the actions of the Paul and Mareva Marciano FoundationTeTi’aturiNei, which aims to “develop a cross-disciplinary and multi-sectorial operation, that provides a network preventative visits, protection, education and assistance for abused children, adolescents and women in French Polynesia”.

The foundation also looks to support projects that assist the everyday functioning of associations active in the field. As it has already done on several occasions, the Marciano Foundation has received five palettes of clothing in 2019, samples of Guess brand designs, that are to be distributed to those in greatest need during the holiday season here in French Polynesia. These large packages, with a total weight of 1,482kg, arrived in Tahiti on October 16, from Los Angeles. They were airtransported from the USA on board the flight TN111 on October 10, 2019, at no expense, thanks to the airline Air Tahiti Nui. One part of the package contained warm clothing. The Marciano Foundation gave these to the Te Rima O Te Here association, volunteers who help to care for ‘medical evacuees’ – patients who are sent to mainland France for hospital treatment, but are often unprepared for its wintry climate.
