World class resort properties ranging from three to five-star are primarily located on the three most visited islands within the chain of islands known as the 'Society Islands' - Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora.  You will also find resort accommodation on lesser known, yet equally spectacular islands such as Huahine, Rangiroa, Raiatea, Taha'a, Tikehau and Tetiaroa.

City Hotels

Located in Papeete on the island of Tahiti you will find several smaller hotels ideally suited for business travel, city stopovers, and short stays before or after a holiday in one of the many islands in French Polynesia - there are 118 in total.

Located in downtown Papeete, two of the larger and more widely known properties are the Hotel Sarah Nui and Hotel Tahiti Nui.  These are centrally located in close proximity to local restaurants and bars, and Papeete's port from where Cruise ships and interisland ferries depart.  For those on a short layover who do not want to venture too far from the airport, there is the option of the Tahiti Airport Motel that is located immediately across the road from Tahiti's Faa'a International Airport.  You can make your hotel booking with our hotel partner Booking.com.

Guesthouses

For a more culturally immersive Polynesian holiday experience you may want to consider staying in a family-run lodge or guesthouse - also known as a Pension.  There are four types of Ministry of Tourism-approved accommodation: bed and breakfast, half-board (breakfast and dinner), self-catering and full-board (all meals).   Guesthouse accommodation is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to 'live like a local'.  For more information on package prices click here

Vacation Rentals

Scattered across the more heavily populated islands you have a selection of vacation rentals offering a mix of property types from holiday homes, to villas, to apartments, to a collection of bungalows located on a single property.  Location can be equally varied, with some located at the edge of a lagoon and others a short walk or drive to the water.  Some may also have a pool on-site.

The Vacation Rental is perfect for larger families or a group of friends who value their independence and prefer self-catering over dining out for all meals.  It is also possible to arrange on-site catering for special gatherings.  Since the standard of rental can vary we would recommend that you book with a specialist vacation rental provider who can ensure that you book the most suitable rental for your holiday.

Paul Gauguin

The largest Tahitian based passenger vessel is the MS Paul Gauguin - a boutique 5-star cruise ship that carries up to 332 passengers across the French Polynesian archipelago.  Being signifcantly smaller than many ocean traversing cruise ships, the size of this ship makes the experience more personal and entering our secluded lagoons possible.

Aranui 5

The more adventurous spirit may yearn for a more immersive cruise adventure that takes you off the path well travelled.  If that ticks the box for you then you may want to climb aboard the Aranui-5, a Cargo Cruise ship that sails from Papeete to the far reaches of French Polynesia when it visits the Marquesas Islands.  Along the way you will weigh anchor in Fakarava and Rangiroa in the Tuamotus island chain, and Bora Bora in the Society Islands.  While a journey on the Aranui-5 may be more adventurous you will still travel in style.
