November 18, 2010 (Bora Bora) – Le Méridien Bora Bora has been honored as one of the top resorts in Oceania – which spans the many islands of the tropical Pacific – in the 23rd annual Readers’ Choice Awards from Condé Nast Traveler.
The soon-to-be newly renovated island resort was ranked #5 out of the top 20 resorts in Oceania. Considered among the most prestigious plaudits in the travel industry, the Readers’Choice Awards rely on actual hotel guests and Condé Nast Traveler’s passionate readership to select the best properties around the world.
Resorts were rated on six criteria: activities/facilities, food/dining, location, overall design, rooms and service. Le Méridien Bora Bora came in as one of the top 5 resorts in its region – and tied for the highest rated resort in Bora Bora with an impressive score of 88.6 out of 100.
The Readers’ Choice Awards comes at a significant time for Le Méridien Bora Bora, which recently embarked on a $12 million property-wide renovation, including new interiors for all beach and overwater bungalows as well as for all public spaces. The resort will reopen with a fresh, modern look on January 23, 2011.
“We couldn’t be happier at receiving this honor from Condé Nast Traveler and look forward to the reactions next year when the renovations are complete,” said Denis Le Nohaïc, General Manager of Le Méridien Bora Bora.
